When using profiling milling to solve milling problems in precision parts processing, the main difficulty to be solved is to determine the profiling method, profiling device, and model design and production.
On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of the profile, determine the profiling method and select the planar profiling and three-dimensional profiling methods. The planar copying method generally involves setting up a planar copying device on a vertical milling machine, which drives the sliding table to follow the model surface through automatic feeding of the workbench, manual operation, or the use of spring force, heavy hammer tension, etc., thus milling out a straight shaped surface with irregular curves as wires. The three-dimensional copying method is similar to the copying milling machine, where the motion along one direction coordinate is achieved by automatic feeding of the machine tool. The motion along another coordinate in the horizontal plane is achieved by periodic step feeding, while the vertical follow-up motion is achieved by spring force driving the sliding plate.
The design and production of the profiling device can be found in the relevant chapters on fixture design and improvement design.
In precision part machining, model design and production use measuring equipment with data output such as three coordinates to measure the model surface. After data regression processing, CAD/CAM technology is applied to milling irregular curves and surfaces on CNC machine tools. The design and production of the model can be carried out in cooperation with CNC technicians or operators.
