1. Definition of subroutines
The machining program of machine tools in precision parts processing can be divided into two types: main program and subroutine. The so-called main program is a complete part processing program, or the main part of the part processing program. It corresponds one-to-one with the processed parts or processing requirements, and there is a unique main program for different parts or processing requirements.
In the programming of precision parts processing, sometimes a group of program segments may appear multiple times in one program, or they may be used in several programs. This typical machining program can be made into a fixed program and named separately, and this set of program segments is called a subroutine. Subprograms generally cannot be used as independent processing programs, they can only be called to implement local actions in processing. After the execution of the subroutine is completed, it can automatically return to the calling program.
2. Nesting of subprograms
To further simplify the program, it is possible to have a subroutine call another subroutine, which is called subroutine nesting. Different subroutines have different levels of nesting. In general, in FANUC-0 systems, subroutines can be nested at 4 levels.
