Before the processing program is executed, Dongguan CNC Precision Machining Factory adjusts the tool position of each tool to make it coincide with an ideal reference point as much as possible. This process is called tool setting. The ideal reference point can be set at the tool tip or tool related point to which the reference is located.
Knife setting is generally divided into two categories: manual knife setting and automatic knife setting. At present, the vast majority of CNC machine tools use manual tool alignment, with basic methods including positioning tool alignment, optical tool alignment, ATC tool alignment, and trial cutting tool alignment. In the first three manual tool setting methods, the accuracy of tool setting may be reduced due to various errors such as manual tool setting and visual inspection. Often, tool setting is achieved through trial cutting to obtain more accurate and reliable results.
The determination of tool point position refers to the starting point of the cutting motion of the tool relative to the part during machining on a CNC machine tool.
The principle for selecting the position of the cutting point is as follows:
1. Try to be consistent with the size design benchmark or process benchmark of the workpiece.
2. Try to make the preparation of processing programs simple and convenient.
3. Convenient to use conventional measuring tools and gauges for alignment on the machine tool.
4. The tool setting error at this point should be small or the possible machining error should be minimized.
5. Try to shorten the introduction (or return) route in the machining program and facilitate tool replacement (rotation).
6. It is recommended to choose a position that is suitable for the agreed mechanical clearance state of the machine tool (eliminating or maintaining the maximum clearance direction) to avoid causing "back compensation" when performing its automatic compensation.
7. If necessary, the tool alignment point can be set at a certain element of the workpiece or its extension line, or at a certain position of the fixture that has a certain coordinate relationship with the workpiece positioning reference.
There are many methods for determining the position of the tool point at Dongguan CNC Precision Machining Factory. For CNC machines with fixed origin, manual and display functions can be used to determine the position; For CNC machine tools without a fixed origin, displacement replacement algorithm, simulated positioning method, or approximate positioning method can be used to determine the accuracy requirements based on their determination.
