1. Definition of user macro programs
In precision part machining, user macro programs are a special programming function in FANUC CNC systems and similar products.
The so-called user macro program is essentially similar to a subroutine. It also stores a set of instructions that implement a certain function in the form of a subroutine in the system memory in advance, and uses the macro program to call instructions to execute this function. In the main program, these functions can be implemented as long as the corresponding calling instructions are programmed.
In precision part machining, a set of programs stored in the form of subroutines with variables is called user macro programs. Call macro program; The instruction that calls a macro program is called a "user macro program command", or the instruction used by the macro program.
Differences between user macro programs and general programs
Compared with regular programs, macro programs lack flexibility and applicability as their program words are constants and a program product can describe a geometric shape. In the user macro program itself, variables can be used for programming, and macro instructions can also be used to assign and operate on these variables, thus enabling the macro program to perform some regularly changing actions.
3. Classification of user macro programs
User macro programs are divided into two types: A and B. In some older FANUC systems (such as FANUC OMD), Class A macro programs are used, while in more advanced systems (such as FANUC 0i), Class B macro programs are used.
