DMG MORI Technology Cycle | Faster and more accurate measurements
DMG MORI is continuing to expand its unique portfolio of technology cycles, such as the Measuring Pro cycle for fast and precise measurements on turn-mill centers and the gearSKIVING AI cycle for shorter gear set-up times and higher machining accuracy.
Process integration and digital transformation (DX) as well as automation and green transformation (GX) are the four pillars of DMG MORI's Transformation for Machining (MX). When it comes to process integration and digital transformation (DX), the DMG MORI technology cycle has played a decisive role for many years. The technology cycle significantly increases the added value in operation, measurement, processing and monitoring. Technology loops simplify and speed up shop floor programming. At the same time, additional machining methods and additional machining steps can be performed in a single clamping operation, continuously increasing productivity. More than 60 technology cycles from DMG MORI are being presented at EMO, including Measuring Pro, which includes 23 measuring cycles and the gearSKIVING AI technology cycle that increases set-up speeds by up to 50 percent in gear hobbing.
Measuring Pro:
30% faster measurement speed and higher measurement accuracy
The degree of processing automation is constantly improving, and in-machine measurement is becoming more and more important. Dr. Edmond Basset, Director of Technical Development at GILDEMEISTER Drehmaschinen, says: "In today's manufacturing industry, high flexibility and small batches, high efficiency and user-friendliness are indispensable for in-machine measurement." For single- or two-lane turn-mill centers, 6-sided complete machining is the main development direction. For this purpose, DMG MORI has developed the Measuring Pro Technology Cycle. Designed for turn-mill applications.
The 23 all-in-one measuring cycles are designed in the same style, with a reasonable structure and support for all CTX TC series turn-mill centers, making them an important toolbox for measurement operations. These technologies have a wide range of cycles, for example, to ideally calibrate any probe according to the B-axis setting, to set the zero point or to translate the zero point and to align the C-axis. Workpieces can be measured axial or radially and radial run-out can be measured. Create measurement programs up to 30% faster while significantly improving measurement accuracy.
gearSKIVING AI:
High-quality gears up to 50% faster
With gearSKIVING 2.0 from DMG MORI, all types of cylindrical gears have already been machined. Now, gearSKIVING AI is another gear cutting technology cycle. More than 80,000 combinations between the tool and the workpiece, the cycle was developed on the basis of an analysis. When machining a new workpiece, the AI-trained gearSKIVING AI technology cyclically provides the machine operator with specific correction data, which is fed directly into the cycle interface. Corrections based on the first measurement log of the teeth eliminate the need for additional measurement operations and avoid rejects, so that high-quality workpieces can be delivered quickly.
In addition, gearSKIVING AI can be used in mass production. Here, after determining the wear-related profile deformation, the correct correction value is recommended to maximize tool life without degrading the quality of the workpiece. Emphasizing the benefits offered by gearSKIVING AI, Dr. Edmond Basset, Edmond Basset, said: "Smart technology allows users to machine high-quality workpieces in less time, up to 50 percent faster. The intelligent correction also extends the tool life."
