New breakthrough! The 15mm insect-level jumping robot was introduced
Fast Technology reported on July 25 that according to media reports, Xi'an Jiaotong University and the scientific research team of Westlake University have successfully proposed an innovative bias buckling bistable design concept, and based on this breakthrough technology, an unprecedented insect-level micro jumping robot - BATE has been developed.
The BATE jumping robot is as small as 15 mm, but it contains impressive jumping ability. It can switch between two distinct jump modes: a height jump mode that easily jumps up to 12.7 times its body length, and a distance jump mode that spans an astonishing 20 times its body length.
What's even more impressive is that BATE is able to perform continuous, agile jumping movements, and its snap-through and snap-back times during steady-state transitions are precisely controlled within an astonishing 300 milliseconds, demonstrating extremely high responsiveness and dynamic flexibility.
In addition to its excellent jumping performance, BATE is equipped with an advanced real-time condition monitoring system that can instantly detect and warn of potential system failures, such as air leaks, which greatly improves the stability and reliability of its operation. This intelligent feature undoubtedly provides a solid guarantee for the application of BATE in various complex and changeable environments.
Looking forward to the future, the BATE jumping robot has shown great application potential in many fields such as exploration of the unknown, search and rescue, and other fields with its excellent performance at the insect level. Its small, lightweight, and flexible design allows it to move freely through tight spaces and complex terrain, performing tasks that are difficult for humans to reach.
Especially in post-disaster rescue scenarios, BATE can go deep into narrow areas that are difficult for humans to reach, carry out efficient and accurate search and rescue work, race against time for life rescue, and become a powerful assistant in rescue operations.
